Tuesday Tunes: Let It Be ☮

Too many times we find ourselves overthinking something trivial, becoming obsessed about changing something that we have no control over, giving into anger, hate, envy over something that won’t matter in a few years, etc. What good is this doing? Will doing anything like that actually make us feel better? No.

Do yourself a favor and Let🔸It🔸Be

And when the night is cloudy,
There is still a light that shines on me,
Shine on until tomorrow, let it be.
I wake up to the sound of music
Mother Mary comes to me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be.
Let it be, let it be.
There will be an answer, let it be.
Let it be, let it be,
Whisper words of wisdom, let it be.

Tuesday Tunes: “Second Wind” by Maren Morris

Maren Morris has quickly become one of my new favorite country artists on the scene right now. Her songs are not only catchy but the lyrics I think are genius. She has some songs that have honestly made me laugh because she somehow manages to be funny and scarily relatable all while singing beautifully.

This song though, is more of an empowering song. It’s about how you learn to let people fuel your fire, rather than letting them get in your head and tear you down.

No matter what your goal is, never let anyone tell you that you can’t achieve it. Don’t let the negativity of others seep into your confidence, perseverance and determination. People will do what they want to do, and say what they want to say. Let them. It’ll just motivate you more to succeed and make them mad that they underestimated you in the first place.

Tuesday Tunes: Music Heals

Some people listen to music while they jog, lift, study, clean or drive. I listen to music any chance that I can. I’m a greedy music lover. That’s because I find such solace in it. It makes me feel alive, comforted, motivated, fearless and unbreakable.

If you give it a chance, music may bring new life into your world that you never thought possible.

Tuesday Tunes: “Ain’t No Man” by The Avett Brothers

I’ve always loved The Avett Brothers and this song just reminds me why.

It’s an upbeat, feel good song about not letting other people dull your shine, step all over you, detail your path or make you feel like you’re not good enough.

You’ve got to serve something, ain’t that right? I know it gets dark, but there’s always the light.

It’s about being so confident and proud of who you are, that you don’t let other people make you question your dreams.

If you want to feel good about yourself and if you want to feel like this girl 💃🏼, then seriously, do yourself a favor and listen to this song!

Tuesday’s Tunes: “Titanium” covered by Jasmine Thompson

You shoot me down, but I won’t fall.

I am titanium.

This song makes me feel a lot of feels. It makes me feel strong, yet fragile. It makes me feel confident, yet vulnerable.

It’s a great song to listen to when you need reassurance that you’ll get back up after a nasty fall, or maybe when you’re feeling shorted by people around you.

Jasmine Thompson does really beautiful cover versions of many songs, but this is one of my favorites. She kind of has this hauntingly, beautiful, soft voice that gives this song something special.

Tuesday Tunes: “Sunday Candy” by Donnie Trumpet & The Social Experiment

I recently stumbled upon this song and listened to it on repeat for about five days straight. And to be honest, I hadn’t really listened to the lyrics until the other day. I was just jamming along because of how upbeat it sounded and because of the good vibes it sent through my speakers. So when I actually sat down and listened to the lyrics, I fell even more in love.

Chance the Rapper wrote this song about his Grandma. Not about some girl he met. About his loving Grandmother who helped raise him, put a roof over his head, fed him and brought him to church every Sunday.

He sings of his appreciation and adoration of his Grandmother. He lets her know that whenever he thinks of her, he is reminded of her graciousness and giving soul.

So if you want a song to dance and sing along to, while also feeling all warm and fuzzy inside, please click play in the video above.

Excuse me while I go clean up the mess my heart made after it melted all over the floor just now.

Tuesday Tunes: “The House That Built Me” by Miranda Lambert

A song that’s close to my heart. I listened to it a lot when I was going through one of the toughest transitions of my adolescent life. It helped me grieve, be thankful and reminisce. Sometimes we need to leave things behind. We move onto the next chapter of our lives and sometimes struggle with leaving the past chapter because of how valued it is to us.

This is a song about not going back to the past to stay there, but merely to touch it just to feel it again even for a little bit.

Tuesday Tunes. 🎧 Because Music Heals🎧

So instead of doing a song of the week, I’m now going to be sharing what I call: Tuesday Tunes!

Same concept as my song of the week posts: they will be songs that I find myself feeling a close connection to and hope to help others feel the same way or inspire people to seek their own songs that make them feel supported, heard, loved, inspired, excited, motivated and understood. Because, music heals, people. We all need music for the soul to turn to.

My first Tuesday tune is…drumroll pleaaaaasseee: “Another Man’s Shoes” by Drew Holcomb. (I listened to the acoustic version on Spotify: that’s the one I recommend listening to)

It’s essentially pointing out that everyone has something that they’re struggling with so we need to try to put ourselves in their shoes as to not judge them. And if we do that and still can’t understand that they too may be facing a hardship, then we need to keep on walking.

It’s a song that made me feel understood not only as a spoonie but as a human being.

Give it a listen!

Song of the Week: “Stand By Me” by Ben E. King

Keeping the soul vibe goin on with this week’s song of the week.

Feels like this song is giving me a warm hug when I listen to it. It’s completing, loving, and a “never gets old” favorite of so many. Whether it’s a significant other, spouse, best friend, sibling, etc..I hope you all feel loved this weekend and know that you’ll always have someone to stand by you when things get dark and stormy.

Spreading love to you all 😊💕
