Tuesday Tunes: Let It Be ☮

Too many times we find ourselves overthinking something trivial, becoming obsessed about changing something that we have no control over, giving into anger, hate, envy over something that won’t matter in a few years, etc. What good is this doing? Will doing anything like that actually make us feel better? No.

Do yourself a favor and Let🔸It🔸Be

And when the night is cloudy,
There is still a light that shines on me,
Shine on until tomorrow, let it be.
I wake up to the sound of music
Mother Mary comes to me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be.
Let it be, let it be.
There will be an answer, let it be.
Let it be, let it be,
Whisper words of wisdom, let it be.

Tuesday Tunes: Music Heals

Some people listen to music while they jog, lift, study, clean or drive. I listen to music any chance that I can. I’m a greedy music lover. That’s because I find such solace in it. It makes me feel alive, comforted, motivated, fearless and unbreakable.

If you give it a chance, music may bring new life into your world that you never thought possible.

Tuesday’s Tunes: “My Church” by Maren Morris⛪️🎧

Tuesday’s Tunes: “My Church” by Maren Morris🙏🏼🎼⛪️
Reasons why I love this song:

1. I enjoy singing loud to this song pretending I’m good and ignoring the hard evidence that I’m not🙉

2. It’s about how music can open the heart and hug your soul. It can comfort you and give you new life.🌱

3. People can find faith and inspiration from things unique to themselves–whether it’s religion, music, literature, sports, etc. I think it’s beautiful ✨💕

Tuesday’s Tunes: “Titanium” covered by Jasmine Thompson

You shoot me down, but I won’t fall.

I am titanium.

This song makes me feel a lot of feels. It makes me feel strong, yet fragile. It makes me feel confident, yet vulnerable.

It’s a great song to listen to when you need reassurance that you’ll get back up after a nasty fall, or maybe when you’re feeling shorted by people around you.

Jasmine Thompson does really beautiful cover versions of many songs, but this is one of my favorites. She kind of has this hauntingly, beautiful, soft voice that gives this song something special.

Tuesday Tunes: “The House That Built Me” by Miranda Lambert

A song that’s close to my heart. I listened to it a lot when I was going through one of the toughest transitions of my adolescent life. It helped me grieve, be thankful and reminisce. Sometimes we need to leave things behind. We move onto the next chapter of our lives and sometimes struggle with leaving the past chapter because of how valued it is to us.

This is a song about not going back to the past to stay there, but merely to touch it just to feel it again even for a little bit.

Tuesday Tunes. 🎧 Because Music Heals🎧

So instead of doing a song of the week, I’m now going to be sharing what I call: Tuesday Tunes!

Same concept as my song of the week posts: they will be songs that I find myself feeling a close connection to and hope to help others feel the same way or inspire people to seek their own songs that make them feel supported, heard, loved, inspired, excited, motivated and understood. Because, music heals, people. We all need music for the soul to turn to.

My first Tuesday tune is…drumroll pleaaaaasseee: “Another Man’s Shoes” by Drew Holcomb. (I listened to the acoustic version on Spotify: that’s the one I recommend listening to)

It’s essentially pointing out that everyone has something that they’re struggling with so we need to try to put ourselves in their shoes as to not judge them. And if we do that and still can’t understand that they too may be facing a hardship, then we need to keep on walking.

It’s a song that made me feel understood not only as a spoonie but as a human being.

Give it a listen!

Song of the Week: “Stand By Me” by Ben E. King

Keeping the soul vibe goin on with this week’s song of the week.

Feels like this song is giving me a warm hug when I listen to it. It’s completing, loving, and a “never gets old” favorite of so many. Whether it’s a significant other, spouse, best friend, sibling, etc..I hope you all feel loved this weekend and know that you’ll always have someone to stand by you when things get dark and stormy.

Spreading love to you all 😊💕

Song of the Week: “Lost in My Mind” by The Head and the Heart

This is by far one of my favorite songs. I felt a strong connection to it after hearing just the first line. However, my favorite verse in this song is one of my favorite verses from all songs:

Mama once told me
You’re already home where you feel loved
I am lost in my mind
I get lost in my mind

This song kick-started my love for The Head and the Heart and all of their other amazing songs–some of which I’m sure I will share at a later time.

I listen to this song when I’m feeling overwhelmed, sad and lost. But the beautiful thing about this song, is that I also listen to it when I’m feeling content, happy and blissful. There aren’t many songs for me that can capture my heart and mind at both ends of their emotional spectrum.

This song has created for me inspiration in many areas of my life. I more literally get lost in my mind when this song comes on.

Give it a listen. It won’t disappoint.

Song of the Week: “Pursuit of Happiness” Covered by Lissie

I’m on the pursuit of happiness and
I know everything that shines ain’t always gonna be gold
I’ll be fine, I’ll be good

Although I’m a Kid Cudi fan for the most part, I really like Lissie’s  version of this song. Her covers are always pretty awesome.

What gets me most in this song are just the vibes that it sends out. The “I’ll be ok. What will be, will be” kind of vibes.

It’s about living your life to the fullest without worries of what others think and also without worries of what may happen to you the next day, month, year, etc. Now, everything in moderation people. Not saying to go cliff jumping or to go do something illegal and dangerous. Just saying that we can’t live our lives worrying about what may happen next. What we need to do is live in the current moment. To seriously live with a live free type of mentality.

That saying “life isn’t fair” is one of the truest things I’ve ever heard. But even though things won’t always go our way and often life will throw things our way that are less than ideal, we have to get up and embrace life. When life gets rough, we shouldn’t “lay awake in our beds full of sorrow.” We should get ready to face tomorrow.

Things in this life won’t always shine with gold, but we’ll be good once we learn to stop letting those bad things put our life on hold.

Song Of The Week: Tell The World by Eric Hutchinson

Tell The World

I got a song and a smile so bright, I’ll make you wish you were here tonight

🎶🌎 Haven’t posted a song in a while, but it seemed only fitting since I’m going to see Eric in concert tonight!!
This song is just so upbeat, as a lot of his songs are. It’s kind of hard to put on this song and not want to dance around a little bit. It also sends out some pretty rockin positive vibes 🤘🏻
